1.5-story house between 2.5-story houses - Opinions?

Hello forum!

We have the prospect of an affordable plot of land.
What is troubling us, however, is that we only want to build a maximum of 2 stories without a basement, while on the right ([semi-detached house]) and on the left ([single-family house]) there are already 2.5-story houses with basements.

How do you think it will look? Maybe the house will then seem a bit too cute between these taller houses and the dense development? What do you think? Do you know of similar situations?

I am grateful for many opinions and views.

Best regards
Gregor

Depending on how the plots are situated, you just have it eternally shady and dark. Especially now in winter. That's why I would worry more about how the light is than whether the house looks cute.

Hello!

If you want to build 2 stories anyway, that's no problem. Should they be full stories? I would build 2 full stories in your place and adapt to the neighboring buildings. That means a huge attic that you can still convert in the future if needed. Building without a basement is also no problem. We are currently building a semi-detached house where the other half has a basement. We are building without a basement and therefore had around 8-10 thousand euros in additional foundation costs - but a basement would have cost much more... But technically no problem.

Regards Micha

Thank you for your reply. Shadows cannot be expected in the case of West-Garten in our situation. I am really only concerned about the appearance of the house between taller and wider houses. Our house can only be 8m wide. The neighboring houses are wider and taller.

The be-all and end-all in house construction is the location of the plot.. I would keep looking if your gut is already in knots.

Hi Micha! Thanks to you too for your reply!! You basically just piled up to reach the height of the other semi-detached house? Greetings Gregor
